Brainstorming About Helping Africa
I am trying to think of "the order of operations" for helping people in Africa.
Here's what I'm thinking so far:
Step 1: Food, water, and police/security
Step 2: Stores and medical clinics for residents with money--foreign-backed/supported
Step 3: Manufacturing and resource gathering operations and sales (to retail stores and other manufacturers)--foreign-backed/supported
Step 4: Wait for demand for education to rise, as businesses see skilled labor and knowledge about how to improve efficiency/performance; then, expect schools and training programs to arise (not foreign-backed)
Step 5: Foreigners speak out and interact with locals in Africa, discussing appropriate laws, women's rights, appropriate rule changes, and the future of each country; government reform takes place, based on suggestions from foreigners and organization and discussion by locals--locals make all final decisions, but foreigners try to influence each society in the name of positive values/morals
That's basically it. That's my bird's-eye-view long-term plan to help Africa. I'm sure as I get more knowledgeable, my ideas will grow and change somewhat.
