Events of the Day -- 03-06-2026

 My weight is very much under control!


I revised my economics theory a little bit.  There's nothing else to do on economics right now except read MWG, which I'm on hiatus from doing.


I am likely to accept my job offer today at 3 p.m. from WIS International...AutoNation sounded positive in the interview and the opportunity sounded pretty good, but I haven't heard anything back from them, so I'm going to go ahead and accept the WIS offer unless I hear something from AutoNation before 3 p.m.


I am stressing a little bit about the cryptic signals.  I saw the police with flashers on at 2:44 p.m.  Were they going to an emergency, or were they just trying to signal me?  It might be that they were not trying to signal me.  I am very desperate to know when I will get justice on and help with my court case.  I feel that I am being illegally trapped by a legion of crooked lawyers, and law enforcement is supposed to help me because they are so clearly breaking the law and trying to prevent me from getting a fair trial.


Does 2:44 p.m. mean, "by April 4, 2026"?  Maybe it does.  Or maybe the police were doing something else and not saying anything related to the end date.  I saw "6:26" from the Houston police before.  That seemed to be a genuine code...hinting, "fix bicycle first" before trying to ride it to work.  That was a helpful hint.  My suspicion is, since that was a genuine code, it is probably over by June 26.  That's kind of a ways away though.  But I think I can trust that.  If I tried to explain it to my therapist, he wouldn't believe me.  He doesn't know everything though, not that I do either.


Anyway I'm going to go spend some time outside now.  I am feeling a little cooler indoors...the air conditioning is always on because it never quite gets cool enough in here.  I worry that will only get worse when summer comes up!


Also I downloaded the Uber app today.  Before my bicycle is ready, I'll just have to eat up a significant portion of my income to pay for Uber rides, so that I don't miss work and lose my job altogether.  It should be fine...I can't imagine it will take more than 2 weeks for my bicycle to be ready.  The Ubers will probably cost about $25 each way, so $50 a day...also, I think you can save money (and time!) if you reserve a ride on Uber.  So I will be setting up many of my Uber rides in the future, not getting them set up for me by Monarch.  It was very frustrating to me how Monarch was handling my transportation...I was late to things 3 times in a row because Monarch was disorganized and not paying enough attention!  Anyway, it won't happen again...I'm probably going to get only 1 more ride from Monarch in the future.  Maybe 3, tops.  Not counting the grocery store (and maybe gym) trips.

EDIT:  No, this proof is not correct.  See the updates at the bottom for details on why (based on Dr. Zelinsky's comment).  Fortunately, my GLL proof and MSR proofs still appear to be correct. It could be that Joshua Zelinsky's comment actually helps me to complete the proof. The GLL proof appears to be correct, AFAIK. The thing is, the fact that we can prove "PA is consistent --> P != NP" within PA and the fact that we can prove "PA is consistent" as a theorem of ZFC just shows that P != NP is a theorem of PA.  That isn't a contradiction, it's just another step in the proof. I think the striking idea is, P != NP is a theorem of PA, but not of ZFC.  That is what I worked to prove.  AFAIK it is possible for a proposition to be a theorem of PA but not of ZFC.  In particular, PA can be proved consistent from ZFC, so we would think it s possible and even likely that there are some non-theorems of ZFC that are theorems of PA. Hello, Texas - A Quick Monopoly Lesson

  So today, I thought I saw some people running around blurting code gestures at me.  One of the codes seemed to say, "Riot for a[buse] v[ictim] time -M".  Oh, M?  M as in Monolith, or M as in Monopoly fan who doesn't get it? Here, Houstonian code-talkers...let me teach you how to play Monopoly, since you are so hungry for free knowledge:  - Make deals with other players that benefit you.  - Offer deals to difficult players that are somewhat beneficial to them, knowing that they might reject.  - Watch which deals other players reject, and identify what *deal types* they are not likely to accept from you or anyone else.  - Be very very careful about your own deals--and behavior--lest you get figured out by your opponents and backed into a corner, with good, beneficial deals being made without you by cunning adversaries who know your every move. Flash Non-Fiction: James Bond and Masculinity

  This was going to be a longer essay, but I decided to just blurt out my point rather than trying to write well. Basically, I think James Bond movies are good, and the songs are high-quality too, but it sends semi-dangerous messages to men in particular about what it means to be a man.  The Bond character is intransigent, aggressive, violent, and absolutely sure of himself in all cases.  He is portrayed as a big winner--able to date and have sex with beautiful women, almost impossible to kill, and lethal and elite at both armed and unarmed combat. I'm concerned that some men, including my estranged father ASW, have had their sense of morality warped by Bond movies.  They think that this dramatically presented way to be masculine is the only way.  I think that's unhealthy, and when people get the not-so-original idea to "try to be more Bond-like" in their personal lives, that leads to catastrophic conflicts with and major potential for deep pain for people that ...
